Located on a 9.5-acre parcel at the newly constructed corner of Kamokila Boulevard and FDR Avenue in Kalaeloa, the Daniel Kahikina Akaka Department of Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic represents a $120 million investment in the new state-of-the-art facility.  Developed by Hunt Development Group, designed by Ferraro Choi & Associates, and constructed by Nan, Inc, this 90,000 SF multispecialty clinic is set to transform veteran healthcare on Oahu.

With its anticipated opening in Spring 2024, the clinic will double the capacity of the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System.  Catering to over 85,000 veterans, the VA clinic will offer a comprehensive range of services including primary health care, laboratory and diagnostic services, mental health support, physical and occupational therapy, audiology, prosthetics, dental services, and pharmacy. The Green Globes-certified building incorporates sustainable features including a robust photovoltaic system with over 1,300 solar panels which will help power its operations.  The new facility also aims to alleviate the strains experienced by veterans, including long wait times and parking challenges at the heavily utilized Spark M. Matsunaga Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Tripler.

The VA Clinic is an integral part of the master-planned community of Kalaeloa Town, and serves as a cornerstone in Hunt’s long-term development plan for its ~550 acre holdings.
